Building Hope: How Small Acts of Service Transformed a Neighbor’s Home

At Love INC, we believe that love is shown in both big and small ways. We aim to provide hope through loving acts of service and growing relationships. This summer, one of our neighbors reached out for help with much-needed home repairs. With health challenges making it hard to manage on her own, she was concerned about the condition of her home. Her decks were worn, windows were leaking, and many others were fogged. Our dedicated Home Repair team saw an opportunity to serve. In July, volunteers began by updating her decks, repairing rotted steps, and improving the overall safety and appearance of the home. The transformation was so appreciated, with our neighbor expressing how happy she was with the results.

In the months that followed, volunteers continued working on the windows. Screens were replaced, and seals were fixed to prevent leaks. By November, the last of the major repairs were completed, and the home was in much better shape for the winter months. As we share this story, we are reminded of the impact that dedicated volunteers and donors can have on our neighbors in need.
